Job Title: Structures Mechanic
Job Description
This role focuses on heavy maintenance, structural repair, and full build-up or refurbishment of heavy-lift commercial helicopters (S-64). You will use blueprints to perform precision structural work, including riveting, countersinking, bending, cutting sheet metal, and installing structural components on aircraft that support demanding commercial operations and specialized missions.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural repairs and modifications on S-64 helicopters using blueprints and technical drawings.
- Rivet, countersink, bend, drill, cut, and form aircraft sheet metal components to precise specifications.
- Install structural components and assemblies on helicopters during heavy maintenance, upgrades, and rebuild projects.
- Support full rebuilds of S-64 airframes pulled from storage, including integration of inventory parts and fabricated components.
- Work on heavy maintenance checks and structural upgrades for a fleet that is frequently deployed for specialized operations.
- Execute assigned tasks based on core strengths, such as fabrication, installation, or repair, to maximize quality and efficiency.
- Use appropriate tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete structural work on time and to required standards.
- Collaborate with other technicians, engineering, machining, and quality departments to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, structural integrity, and adherence to technical data and shop standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and care for personal and shared tools.
- Follow all safety procedures and best practices in an active aircraft hangar and shop environment.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated ability to drill, cut, bend, countersink, and rivet aircraft sheet metal with minimal supervision.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings for aircraft structural work.
- Comfort and proficiency performing a structures test involving multiple rivets and bends on or before the first day.
- Ownership and use of basic hand tools required for aircraft structures work.
- 4+ years of MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) experience for at least two of the mechanics on the team.
- Proven capability to perform structural repairs and installations on aircraft without extensive training.
- Hands-on experience with riveting, sheet metal repair, and aircraft sheet metal installation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- A&P license preferred but not required.
- Experience in aircraft structures manufacturing is welcome, particularly for candidates local to the area or with strong fabrication backgrounds.
- Prior experience working on helicopters or in aviation environments is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team including engineering, machining, and quality departments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to adapt to different assignments such as fabrication or installation based on operational needs.

Work Environment
Work takes place in aircraft hangar and shop areas at a headquarters site that also houses engineering, administration, machining, and quality departments, creating a highly collaborative technical environment. The facility includes a very advanced electronic tool crib that provides access to a wide range of specialized tools to support your work. The primary shift runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. After approximately three months, you may transition to a second shift operating from 3:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on a 4x10 schedule, and you should be open to this shift. The second shift is being actively built out with leadership already in place, offering a structured yet evolving team environment typical of an active aircraft maintenance and rebuild operation.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $42.00 - $52.00/hr.
